ISAIAH ASIIMWE
My name is Isaiah Asiimwe Kakitahi, and my seven-year journey with the ACE curriculum has been transformative. Since, my introduction to the curriculum in 2017, I have made significant academic strides, learned and developed new skills and talents, and experienced substantial personal growth.
When I first joined the ACE curriculum , I was immediately impressed by the curriculum’s structure, which encouraged students to learn independently and self-sufficiently through the provided material. I embraced it whole heartedly as I adapted to this new system. In 2023, I joined Asifiwe International Academy, earning both my Intermediate Certificate in mid-2023 and my Advanced Certificate in early 2024. My time at Asifiwe International was particularly rewarding as I balanced academic dedication with talents and skills in basketball, guitar, and art, achieving excellence both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities.
Throughout high school, I consistently chose electives in Business, Economics, and Mathematics. My decision to study Finance stems not only from my proficiency in Mathematics but also from a deep-seated desire to understand and engage with the financial community.
Another one of my notable strengths is demonstrated through teaching myself website design. At the Uganda National Students Convention 2023, one of my designs won silver in the website design event, achieving the highest placement that year.
Lastly, my time at Asifiwe International cultivated a deep appreciation for sports. I actively participated in basketball on the school courts and frequently played at Harp Hamilton. It was during this period that I began a regular gym routine, working out several times a week.
More than anything else, a cornerstone of the ACE curriculum that has profoundly influenced my daily life is goal setting. It taught me to seize opportunities and manage my time efficiently to make the most of these chances. I am profoundly grateful for the knowledge, experiences, and values I gained during my time in ACE. With these lessons in hand, I am eager and prepared to demonstrate excellence and diligence as I transition to university.
DAVID NAMARA
The A.C.E program has been such an amazing journey for me. I started the journey 10 grades ago and it has been one of ups and downs. But on the whole, it has been a journey that I have enjoyed greatly.
The different aspects of the A.C.E program have been such a blessing to me. In the classroom my favorite subjects that the A.C.E program offers but my favorite are history, biblical studies and speech. I enjoyed history because I have always had a keen interest in studying the past events and seeing what happened and how it affects the world today. The other aspect of A.C.E that I really enjoyed was the extracurricular activities. Having extracurricular activities as part of the program has helped me to discover a number of talents that I have which are in the areas of computer, speech and photography. The different clubs and conventions were a time where I got to discover these talents. At the conventions I have won a number of medals for different activities namely, speech, robotics, and soccer to mention a few. And last but certainly least is the character training we receive in the A.C.E program which is integrated in the learning.
During the time that I spent in the A.C.E program I had the honor of serving as the information prefect for two terms in a row and also heading the radio program at Asifiwe International Academy. I really appreciate the chance to serve in these positions. From my time as a leader, I learned how to solve problems that come my way I picked this from the leadership training that we had as prefect leaders, and the different situations that presented themselves in my time of service.
During my time in A.C.E I got a chance to work this came in the form of assignments from the media club. The media club in my school would often times give me assignments which involved taking videos and photographs for school. I enjoyed this time because I was able to make two short films to illustrate the school term themes and a couple of highlight videos for some school events. This has helped me to learn a significant number of useful things in regard to photography, and film.
The A.C.E program has been a place where I have met with God in an amazing way. From the different stories that the they tell of great men who have sought God in the PACES to the different scriptures that are presented in the monthly scriptures that we received.
As I move on into the future, I am going to do a number of things. The main thing I will do is film and television. For a very long time I have had a desire to see the return of clean, authentic, entertainment that has values. And diving into the film and television space will ensure that happens. While I do that, I will design technology to enrich this process. And make the end results magnificent.
